In this episode of Gear Daddy, Daddy Troy takes you on a tour of this baby stroller and explains the many great features that separate it from other strollers. Whether your baby is currently using a bassinet or a car seat, this pushchair is designed to handle all stages of development. It also makes a great travel stroller. DadLabs ep. 280. Daddy Troy: Welcome back to Gear Daddy. I’m your host Daddy Troy. Strollers have changed a lot since we were kids so today I thought I would bring you some of the most recent developments in stroller technology. To do that I’ve got this Mutsy Stroller, it’s an amazing piece of equipment and we are going to take it for a test drive. The first thing you will notice about a Mutsy stroller is that is a modular system. You can take the seat out and you have a basic frame upon which to put tons of attachments. For instance once you have taken the seat out you can actually reverse it and look at your child while you are strolling along the avenue. Or you can put in a car seat or you can even put in a bassinet. Another great thing about this particular stroller and strollers in general is that they are beefier and sturdier now. This aluminum tubing allows it to be both light and really strong at the same time. The tires are more beefy and more cushiony for kids. And you will even notice the metal edges all have this really hard rubber on the outside to prevent it from wearing out. You can use it all throughout the kid’s life. All the way from bassinet to when they go off to college. Another thing that is great for dad’s like me is I am pretty tall and I am so used to using strollers that I have to lean over or hunch down when I push them. Well this one has a handle that actually pulls out and it quickly adjusts with just one hand. Well even the attachments have attachments. You can take off the front bar for the child. Kids can get pretty bored when they are riding in a stroller. Well Mutsy has thought of that, they have an attachment that allows the kid to feel like he or she is steering the stroller. Another great piece of equipment is the step up. You actually hook it on to the back of the stroller, it allows an older kid to step up on to it and then you can push a younger kid along in the stroller. Both kids are in the same place. Let’s say you are in a crowded mall or airport and you really wan to keep track of your kids or maybe your kid is tired and he or she can’t walk anymore but can at least stand on the back of the stroller. It is one of the best inventions I have seen in a long time. The Mutsy stroller has rear wheel steering. It’s really unique in that once you unlock the rear wheels so they don’t go straight you can see as I push it around I am able to be really precise in where I park or how I might maneuver it in a really tight environment. One of my biggest pet peeves about strollers are the inadequate rain and or sun protection. No problem with Mutsy. They’ve got his great rain cover and you will see here that the sun cover does a super job as well. Sometimes people will hang their bags on the back of a stroller but that gets really dangerous because the stroller can tip over. Well the folks at Mutsy have actually designed attachments that are actually for carrying groceries or carrying something that you have bought at the mall. The Mutsy passes the collapsibility test and that is a three part test. Number one it collapses easily. Number two it collapses quickly. And number three it has a small foot print once it is collapsed. And this is important if you are putting it in your car or if you are storing at home. Notice how the Mutsy stores both horizontally and vertically. So that’s the Mutsy stroller. It’s one of these rare products where technology and elegant design go hand in hand. It get’s the Dad Labs seal of approval. I also want to give a shout out to Fat Tire in New Belgium our sponsors for the week. We’ll see you next week on DadLabs.com
