Changing Table Alternative

Changing tables are useful pieces of baby furniture that parents can use to store diapers, baby wipes, and other baby items for their newborn baby. In this episode of Gear Daddy, Daddy Troy suggests a changing table diy project for dads where you mount a changing pad onto an existing dresser in your house. This project is a money saving alternative to traditional baby changing tables. Along with instruction on how to install one of these baby products in your home, Gear Daddy reviews the safety features that will protect your infant. DadLabs Ep. 539. Brought to you by BabyBjorn.
Daddy Troy: Welcome back to Gear Daddy, I'm your host, Daddy Troy .

I'm a big fan of changing tables they give you a place to store all your diapers, your wipes, your creams.

However, today I'm going to talk about an alternative changing tables. Buying a changing pad and simply mounting it on an existing dresser in your house. Stick around, I'll tell you all about it.

So this is a changing pad. Your going to buy one of these anyway if your going to buy a changing table but maybe your a parent who is trying to save a little money, maybe you don't have a whole lot of room in your house, or maybe you just want to be a spartan in your existence and not have so much stuff.

one of the advantages of this over just simply changing your baby on the bed or something is that this baby right here can be buckled in using one of these straps right here.

And you may think, "oh what the heck, I'll never leave the table..." But you will because you'll accidently drop cream or diapers on the floor. You'll get poop all over your hands, or something. You'll have a need to maybe move away for just a second, while the baby is still being watched from the table.

This particular changing pad has another really important feature that you will need to have. It has this little strap right here that you will take and you will actually drap this over the back of the dresser, drill a little pilot hole, and then screw this into the back of the dresser so that the baby and the pad itself don't going go falling off of the dresser.

Now this particular one is made by Especially For Baby. You can get it at Babies R Us. You'll notice this one right here has an anti skid pad on the back.
