In this episode of Gear Daddy, Daddy Troy travels to New York City and finds out about all the cool action toys for the fall season kids movies. Astro Boy is the iconic Japanese anime robot boy. The line of Astroboy toys includes action figures, plush toys, and bouncing balls. Planet 51, which opens right around Thanksgiving, is a movie about an astronaut that travels to another planet and meets aliens. The toy line features action figures and a range of different vehicles. These animated movies are great to put on your list of holiday family activities. Daddy Troy: Hey welcome back to DadLabs, I'm Daddy Troy. I'm here with Laura from Jazwares. We're at the Time to Play Holiday Showcase here in New York City. And you know, the fall's a really big season for kids movies. I'm so excited. One of them is Astro Boy. Another on is Planet 51. And Jazwares has some action figure toys. They're going to tell us all about them.

Laura: So Astro Boy releases on October 20th nationwide in theaters. Astro Boy is the iconic Japanese anime figure first launched in the 1960's in Japan.

Troy: So, it's been around a long time?

Laura: Yeah, what we've done is develop our line that's true to the fans, using iconic Astro Boy which is how he initially appeared in his Japanese form. And then, and he's updated for modern day American fans.

Troy: So you have old school Astro Boy and new school?

Laura: And new school right. So, you can see him in his new outfits and he is a boy who's a robot and he can fly and he shoots cannons. He has butt weapons. And lots of cool things.

Troy: In the trailer, he goes, "I've got weapons in my butt." That's pretty funny. And this guy lights up right here doesn't he?

Laura: Exactly, so you press the button here and you can see. And this focuses, that's his core power.

Troy: What else in the line do you have in terms of the Astro Boy line?

Laura: We have, this is a 10-inch figure. We also have the 6-inch figures, with electronics, they light up. 3 and 3/4-inch figures. We have plush. And we also have the core balls, which they're bouncing balls that light up like the core.

Troy: I love it. Okay, let's talk about Planet 51.

Laura: Yes. This is a Thanksgiving movie.

Troy: And Astro Boy comes out in October?

Laura: Yes, October 23rd.

Troy: So this is a Thanksgiving movie, Planet 51. And what all do you have in this line?

Laura: So Planet 51 line is both figure and vehicle intensive. We've got 3-inch figures, we've got a little larger figures about 6-inch and we have a lot of vehicles. So you can put your figures in your vehicles. There's lots of cool vehicles in the movie.

Troy: And for the parents that don't know, the premise of this movie is an astronaut goes to another planet, he's viewed as the alien, and he has to escape and come back home. And the planet's full of life that we would call aliens.

Laura: Yeah, they're full of aliens but they think it's like the 1950's so they live like the 1950's in America. So great music.

Troy: Yeah, and I'm sure if you've gone to see any movies with your kids, you know that the trailer's already out for this.

Laura: Yes, and Dwayne Johnson's the lead in this movie. He plays the astronaut.
