Daddy Owen: Boy, girls they are different from each other. How different? Well let’s ask my mum. I’m a boy I have a pee pee. So we are talking about boys and girls today. You know the difference right? One has the- okay. SO in the office as patients are they fundamentally different as a pediatrician? Dr. Mum: Little boys and little girls? Daddy Owen: Yes. Dr. Mum: Oh not really little girls still like dolls. And little boys like trucks and cars. But no not really. Daddy Owen: Do you get dads coming in with the kids? Dr. Mum: Oh yes these days more and more and I love it. Daddy Owen: Oh really? Dr. Mum: Uhm hm. And I don’t actually do men myself as a doctor. Daddy Owen: Excuse me? Dr. Mum: No I really have never done men. Daddy Owen: That makes me a mystery. Dr. Mum: I like men a lot. Daddy Owen: I know I am sure you do. Then mainly you treat women and children for the most part. Dr. Mum: That is how it all evolved. Daddy Owen: And so at what point do you feel like the pap smear when it gets to that age is it time for women? Dr. Mum: Oh well that brings you to the question at what age should a woman have a pap smear? Daddy Owen: Or a fella has a Pap smear. My first was traumatic. Dr. Mum: It could be yes. Daddy Owen: Yeah. Dr. Mum: No I loved seeing boys as long as they felt comfortable with me. But sometimes when it got to the stage of their sports physical when they were about 16 say, 15 there were certain aspects of that physical that you might be able to remember? Would you have preferred to have gone to your dad to have you? Daddy Owen: Actually I wasn’t really comfortable with either one of you. But- Dr. Mum: Oh. Well dad and I sort of shared things out there because. Daddy Owen: Well there is a lot to handle. Dr. Mum: Yes it was a lot to handle. But I like dads bringing their child in because I am not being expected to touch the dads then. Daddy Owen: No in fact quite the opposite. Dr. Mum: But the mums do open up to me a lot more. Daddy Owen: Oh it’s back to that Pap smear thing. Well if you have your own question, feel free. And she can do visuals. This has been Ask My Mum.
